Term 1 Week 13
Ash Girl
Last week a dozen of our boarders were cast members of the school production Ash Girl. The entire team of directors, stage managers, cast and backstage assistants have applied huge amounts of commitment and dedication throughout the whole term in preparation for their matinee and evening performances. Most of the boarders were part of the audience On Wednesday and Thursday evening, witnessing a truly enthralling performance by all involved.
Those boarders who were cast members were:

Father - Nihan
Fairy Godmother - Mahalia
Princess Zehra - Sara
Owl - Raziq
Otter - Haziq
Angerbird - Sharifah
Envysnake - Victoria
Greedmonkey - Ryan
Gluttontoad - Alex O
Sadness / Spiders ensemble - Jaymond & Lakshman
Nexus Boarding Indoor Football
On Monday evening the final of the inaugural Indoor Football competition was played between Good Shape FC and Bad Shape FC. Following six weeks of round robin, both teams were deserved finalists. Bad Shape FC fronted up early in the match with some slick short passing and strong defence. In the end, due to superb teamwork and converting their shots at goal, Bad Shape FC were the winners 8-1. Ryan scored a hat-trick, while Raziq, Jaymond and Nihan contributed a goal each, while the opposition providing two own goals. Faris picked up a consolation goal for Good Shape FC.
Individual medals were awarded to each member of Bad Shape FC and an impressive trophy was presented to the 2016 champions. In the third and fourth play-off match, Halal Bae were the winners in a penalty shootout 1-0 over Damn Sexy FC. Michael scored the solitary match winner for the victors.
Well done to everybody who competed for their respective teams throughout the term.
Sunway Lagoon
Sunway Lagoon was the location for the weekend activity, which was enjoyed by all who attended. The weather was bearable and the theme park rides and variety of swim pools and slides were tried out by us all. The new Congo Challenge, Vuvuzela and Cameroon Climb were popular attractions used by the boarders. The introduction of new animals to the Wildlife Park and closely being able to view the fearsome yet elegant white tiger and lions were a feature of the day.
