Christmas Celebrations
The boarding house common area was transformed into a beautiful winter wonderland by Ms Bobby with the help from a few of the boarder elves, complete with a large Christmas tree full of gift bags for everyone to have for the twelve days of Christmas.
We celebrated our annual Christmas dinner on Tuesday with a fabulous evening full of events, delicious food and some Christmas tunes.
We started the evening with a Christmas roast dinner provided by our fantastic caterers, we had turkey with ALL of the trimmings, salmon and a vegetarian option, followed by a cheese board, mince pies and other desserts.
Our evening then moved on to the floor entertainment; Hampshire, Griffiths, Martin and Schubert floor each performed in front of the whole house. The performances were all excellently delivered and included live singing, dancing and piano playing. It was great to see how much effort everybody had put in, and how much they enjoyed presenting in front of their friends.
The highlight of the evening for many, was when Santa visited to hand out the  ‘Secret Santa’ gifts that the boarders and staff had bought over the past couple of weeks. Everyone loved finding a personal gift for their receiving person and carefully spending time wrapping it up. The evening concluded with a compilation of photos from over the past 12 months to remember all of the brilliant memories that boarders and staff have shared together.

Girls Floor Outing - Karaoke
Griffiths and Hampshire floor girls decided that for this terms floor outing they wanted to sing the night away and do karaoke at Alamanda! All of the girls were divided into three groups of nine and they each had a karaoke room to themselves for three hours. The karaoke rooms came fully equipped with several microphones, lots of seating and huge catalogue of songs to choose from. They chose twelve different snacks and drinks to have delivered to the karaoke room throughout the evening to keep them hydrated and energized after a lot of enthusiastic singing. The girls sang Adele, Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars and many more as a group; each displaying their musical talents and having a lot of fun at the same time.

Martin Floor Outing
We all walked down to the local village to sit around a table and share a meal together. It was nice for us to get the chance to spend this quality time together bonding as a floor. We reminisced about the good times we have all shared as a boarding family in this first term, looking forward to our two week holiday and then the rest of the year. We enjoyed a delicious local meal in the casual setting with just the right atmosphere for us to have a delightful evening. On the walk back to boarding we decided that a night swim would be the perfect way to end the night. So we grabbed our towels and put on our shorts for a lively dip in the pool before lights out. All in all a simple but very enjoyable evening was had by everyone.

Schubert Floor Outing
Schubert Floor boys decided to watch the highly reviewed Fantasy/SciFi film Justice League at Golden Cinema, Alamanda. We skipped dinner knowing full well, our tummies would be satisfied after eating popcorn, curry puffs, nachos and soda throughout the duration of the movie, which we all enjoyed watching.

Well Done Yvonne & Sally
Congratulations to Yvonne and Sally who successfully passed their Trinity School of Music International Violin Examination recently. They both were extremely nervous prior to their exam, but they spent a lot of time practising beforehand and their perseverance has paid off.

Rumah Keluarga Visit
Many boarders visited our friends from RKK on Sunday to sing Christmas carols and deliver Christmas gifts. Our boarders thought considerately about what gifts to provide for those at RKK. Sharing positive spirit and witnessing the happiness on the children's faces was a joy to see in the festive season.
