Cycling and Canoeing on Putrajaya Lake

Wednesday, November 22, 2017
Mr Ariff took ten boarders to Wetland Park in Putrajaya for canoeing and cycling. The participants organised themselves into pairs for both of activities. First was canoeing and everybody seemed rather confident paddling around the calm waters of the lake.

Andrew and Atakhan were the first pair to have a swim after their canoe tipped, however following a constructive team talk, they figured out new strategies by changing their position and finally they were able to paddle comfortably in tandem with out any fuss.

Next was cycling and Durra, Jun and Ke Xuan displayed a good spirit of togetherness when attempting to ride the tricycle. The cycling track proved to be relatively easy throughout the forty five minute duration. The weather conditions were splendid throughout the late afternoon and the collaboration between all the boarders was evident.

Halloween Night
The entire boarding house enjoyed a special dinner and fun games on Halloween Night. The houseparents did their best to keep in the spirit (excuse the pun) of things by dressing up, as well as organising a mixture of games including apple bobbing, wrap the mummy, doughnut on a string and some ‘Fear Factor’ games such as eat the eyeballs and dead flies!

Mixed Basketball
Mixed house basketball is underway on Monday evenings and we have four teams competing for the title of this years Basketball Champions. The feature of this seasons competition is that each team must have at least two females in their team. Good luck to those teams who have entered.

Pathway Exams
Our Year 12’s were busy last week sitting Pathway Exams. These exams are to discuss with the parents and the learners about their Standard and/or Higher Level choices as advised by the teachers' recommendations, and the results of the Pathway Exams. As part of this, they also get a hardcopy certificate of their results. It is also an opportunity for the parents to meet their child's tutor.

Boarders busy in the Kitchen
Boarders have been frequently using the kitchen to bake cookies as they fundraise for their respective 24 Hour Run teams. The cookies are sold to school learners during morning breaks.
