Term 3 Week 2

SnoWalk I-City

In the weekend Mr Troy, Ms Bobby & Ms Kay transported some boarders to SnoWalk I-City, South East Asia’s first indoor winter wonderland. In a climate-controlled area at below 5 degrees Celsius with 100mm of snow underfoot, we all were treated and enjoyed the chilly yet refreshing Arctic experience.

As we entered the first part of the wonderland, we viewed many ice sculptures which had been shaped by a team of 30 artists from Harbin, China. The boarders and adults made some interesting looking snowmen and tobogganing down a straight yet narrow track proved to be a highlight for many.

We had a brief lunch break at KFC and then headed to the Red Carpet a wax museum featuring many waxworks of famous and historic people, film characters and sportsmen and women. To complete the fun day, we all visited the Trick Art Museum where many of us took the opportunity to take photographs at this interesting, yet creative attraction. Here our eyes played tricks on our mind as two dimensional paintings have been skilfully rendered by artists to make them appear as three dimensional.

Year 9 IA trip

Many of our Year 9’s participated in the International Award Bronze Adventurous Journey trip to the Wetlands where teamwork, cooperation, perseverance and resilience were key characteristics required throughout the weekend. All returned back extremely weary and tired, looking forward to the comforts of their own beds!!
