Visa and Residency Requirements
International learners must hold the appropriate visa to study in Malaysia. For learners attending day school without boarding facilities, they will be required to reside with their parent(s) or a legal guardian. Where a legal guardian is appointed, official court-issued guardianship documents are required to support eligibility.
For learners residing in the boarding house, a legal guardian must be formally appointed to provide consent and assume responsibility for the learner’s stay in Malaysia at the boarding house.
Certain visa holders and/or their dependents (e.g., Employment, Resident, Diplomatic, Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H), PVIP or Digital Nomad Pass holders) are required to obtain a yearly Permission to Study stamp before commencing their studies. Learners without these visas are required to apply for a Student Pass, which also allows for one Guardian Pass and dependent passes accompanying the Guardian Pass for younger non-school-going siblings under the age of 3.
The School supports families by preparing the necessary enrolment documents and applying for a Ministry of Education (MOE) Letter of Support to facilitate Immigration submission. As Immigration approval can take up to three months or more, particularly during peak periods, families are strongly encouraged to begin the process early and seek guidance from our admissions department.
Enrolment at Nexus is conditional upon the learner and their parent(s) or legal guardian, holding valid visas issued by the Malaysian Immigration Department. Learners may only commence school once the necessary approvals have been received.
