Class of 2026 Receives University Offers from Leading Global Universities

As the Class of 2026 at Nexus International School Malaysia celebrates the completion of the IB Diploma Programme, learners are preparing for the next stage of their educational journey with University Offers from leading institutions around the world. Receiving offers even before their final IB Diploma Programme examination results, the cohort’s achievements reflect academic excellence, resilience, curiosity and the global perspective nurtured throughout their time at Nexus.

From the IB Diploma Programme to Leading Global University Offers

This year’s learners have received University Offers from prestigious institutions including the University of Oxford, Imperial College London, The University of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), New York University Shanghai, University of Manchester, University of Sheffield, University of Kent, among others. Spanning disciplines such as Biomedical Sciences, Engineering, Law, Economics and other specialist fields, these University Offers demonstrate the diverse ambitions and future pathways of the Class of 2026.

More than successful university applications, these University Offers reflect the holistic education at Nexus International School Malaysia, where learners are encouraged to pursue their passions, develop leadership skills and grow into confident, globally minded individuals prepared to succeed in higher education and beyond.

The breadth of University Offers received by the Class of 2026 reflects the strength of the IB Diploma Programme and the opportunities available to learners throughout their educational journey at Nexus International School Malaysia. Through a combination of academic challenge, personalised support and meaningful experiences beyond the classroom, learners graduate with the confidence and capabilities to pursue opportunities at leading universities across the world.

Collectively, the Class of 2026 has secured University Offers across multiple countries and disciplines, demonstrating not only academic achievement but also adaptability, leadership and a commitment to lifelong learning. These qualities are increasingly valued by universities and are developed throughout learners’ experiences both inside and outside the classroom.

Among the many outstanding University Offers received this year is Keith Tan’s acceptance to study Biomedical Sciences at the University of Oxford. Having joined Nexus International School Malaysia in Year 9, Keith credits the opportunities available beyond the classroom for helping him develop skills that strengthened his university applications.

“Nexus offered me many opportunities through learner-led organisations and activities such as the Nexus Model United Nations Conference (NISMUNC) and leadership roles within the school’s Co-curricular Activities (CCAs). These experiences helped me build my leadership and communication skills, which were valuable for my university application process.”

Keith also highlighted the personalised support he received from the Higher Education Counselor throughout the application process.

“Nexus provided a lot of support and guidance, especially from our Higher Education Counsellor, Ms Caroline. She helped me prepare for university applications by sharing resources, recommending workshops and helping me strengthen my personal statements.”

Another learner whose achievements reflect the wider success of the cohort is Amni Amin. Amni received University Offers to study Materials Science & Engineering at Imperial College London, the University of Manchester and the University of Sheffield.

Reflecting on her experience, Amni credits the strong support network at Nexus for helping her grow academically and personally.

While Keith’s and Amni’s stories highlight individual success, they also reflect the wider experience of learners across the Class of 2026. Their journey demonstrates how the combination of the IB Diploma Programme, personalised Higher Education Counselling and a supportive learning environment helps learners pursue ambitious goals and secure University Offers from leading universities worldwide.

How Leadership Helps Learners Secure Strong University Offers

Exceptional University Offers are built on more than grades alone. At Nexus International School Malaysia, learners are given the opportunity to take ownership of their learning, explore their interests and participate in experiences that help them become well-rounded individuals.

Learners take up leadership opportunities by organising important events such as the BMCC Sustainability and Leadership Conference and the Nexus Model United Nations Conference (NISMUNC) which encourages learners to lead projects, collaborate with peers and engage with real-world challenges. Nexus offers more than 20 learner-led CCAs where learners are able to lead activities in their chosen field of expertise and mentor other learners. This forms part of the School’s leadership programme and fulfills the IB Diploma Programme’s Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) requirements. Nexus learners are able to strengthen their university applications, personal statements and do better in their university interviews by providing examples of the authentic skills and experiences they develop through this leadership programme.

These experiences complement the academic rigour of the IB Diploma Programme, enabling learners to build strong profiles for success in higher education and their future.

IB Diploma Programme at Nexus Prepares Learners for University Success

A key contributor to these achievements is the IB Diploma Programme, which equips learners with the academic knowledge and transferable skills needed to succeed at university and beyond.

Through the Extended Essay, learners undertake independent research similar to university-level study, while Theory of Knowledge encourages them to evaluate different perspectives, question assumptions and think critically. Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) further develops leadership, personal growth and community engagement, helping learners become reflective, adaptable and internationally minded graduates.

The IB Diploma Programme, dedicated Higher Education Counselling and meaningful leadership opportunities at Nexus ensure learners leave Nexus International School Malaysia well prepared to embrace higher education and future careers with confidence.
