Academic Support
Supporting Our Learners
Academic Support
We embrace diversity and believe every child deserves an excellent, child-centred education at Nexus International School Malaysia. Our inclusive admissions and learning philosophy ensure that learners of all abilities, whether needing additional support or working at the highest levels, are challenged and supported to achieve their best.
We are also proud to be recognised as an ADHD Friendly School by the ADHD Foundation Neurodiversity Charity, a significant acknowledgement of our commitment to inclusive education and strong support for neurodiverse learners.

How We Are
Supporting Our
Learners
Through differentiated teaching we ensure that every learner develops confidence, empathy and the skills to thrive in a diverse world.
Primary & Secondary
additional english
English as an Additional Language (EAL) at Nexus provides a structured pathway that helps learners develop their language skills at every stage, from beginner to near-fluent. Through small group teaching, tailored support and integration into mainstream subjects, learners build both communicative and academic English while keeping pace with their studies.
Primary & Secondary
Learning Support
Our Special Educational Needs (SEN) support ensures every learner can access the curriculum and thrive. Our Inclusion Team provides personalised support for both Primary and Secondary in class or where needed. A Personal Learning Assistant is allowed for Primary Years for more individualised guidance.
Secondary
Alternative Pathway
From Year 7 onwards, learners may follow our Alternative Pathway, which blends academics, life skills and social development within an inclusive international school environment. This continuous provision empowers learners to build confidence, independence and the skills they need to succeed both in school and beyond.
Primary & Secondary
Highly able learners
Highly able learners are supported through a variety of in-class scaffolds such as challenge tasks and extension activities. In Mathematics and Languages learners are streamed to ensure progress is accelerated through high performance groups. These classes take more demanding qualifications such as Additional Maths and First Language options. Learners are also encouraged to extend themselves through academic, sporting and artistic competitions, as well as by pursuing passion projects and leadership opportunities that match their interests. We have learners attending a large number of external competitions and awards in most subjects.
