Wider Learning
Broadening Learning Experiences
Beyond The
Classroom
At Nexus International School Malaysia, we provide a holistic education from Early Years to Year 13, enabling learners to thrive in every area. Our digital learning programme, enriching residential trips, diverse sports and wide range of co-curricular activities foster critical thinking, creativity, personal values and confidence.
We also place strong emphasis on leadership, empathy and global citizenship. Through initiatives like Global Citizenship, Model United Nations (MUN) and Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award, learners are inspired to take meaningful action and make a positive impact, preparing them to succeed in an interconnected world with respect and responsibility.
Beyond the Classroom
Wider Learning
Opportunities
Wider learning offers learners the chance to explore, grow and take on new challenges, helping them discover lifelong interests and build lasting friendships. There truly is something for everyone.
Digital Learning
Nexus is globally recognised as an Apple Distinguished School for its innovation, leadership and educational excellence. Our 1:1 iPad and MacBook programme ensures that digital tools are seamlessly integrated into every aspect of learning.
Co-Curricular Activities (CCA)
Co-curricular activities are an important part of preparing learners for life, helping them develop strong personal values and essential skills. We offer more than 70 CCAs and clubs, ranging from traditional team and individual sports to exciting opportunities in the Performing Arts.
Sports
The school offers a diverse and inclusive sports programme that allows all learners to enjoy the physical, mental and social benefits of sport. In Primary and Secondary, participation in competitive sports including AIMS, MSSD and FOBISIA, helps learners strive towards and achieve their personal best.
Music and Performing Arts
We nurture creativity and confidence through opportunities to learn instruments, join ensembles and our school orchestra as well as perform in annual productions and drama recitals. As active members of AIMS, FOBISIA, and BMCC, our learners also gain performance experiences beyond school, showcasing their talents on regional and international platforms.
Residential Trips
Learners enjoy an enriched school experience through a variety of carefully chosen educational trips. Challenge Week allows them the freedom to choose their own adventure, fostering independence and resilience, while the Year 12 Residential Trip and other excursions broaden their horizons, building teamwork and creating lasting memories beyond the classroom.
Learner Leadership
At Nexus, learner leadership is nurtured from an early age through opportunities such as the Primary and Secondary Student Councils, where learners represent their peers and help shape school life. Leadership also extends into learner-led CCAs and clubs, empowering students to take initiative, collaborate, and pursue their passions.
INTERNATIONAL AWARDS
From Year 9 onwards, learners can take part in The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award, building resilience, leadership and a spirit of adventure. Through service, skills development, physical challenges and expeditions, learners grow in confidence and independence while making a positive impact on their communities.
Global Citizenship
We prepare learners to become global citizens who are ready to make a positive impact on the world. Through our innovative approach to education, we nurture critical thinking, problem-solving and creativity—skills essential for success in the 21st century.
OUTDOOR LEArNinG
From our very own Forest School Programme to nature walks and science experiments in our outdoor spaces and environmental projects, outdoor learning encourages curiosity, resilience and a love for the natural world while supporting wellbeing and teamwork.
