What makes our Teachers special
The learning never stops
At Nexus International School Malaysia, our teachers are lifelong learners too. They are given continuous opportunities to grow through professional development, mentoring and peer-to-peer collaboration. Many attend and lead international conferences, sharing expertise and gaining fresh perspectives to bring back into the classroom. With access to high-quality resources and ongoing support, our educators are empowered to innovate and provide the very best learning experiences for every child.
Highest Quality Teachers
Nexus teachers are among the best in the world, with 80% coming from international backgrounds. Each is carefully selected through a rigorous recruitment process, ensuring they are not only qualified in their subject areas but also bring valuable global experience. Their passion, expertise and commitment to excellence ensure our learners are supported by educators of the highest calibre.

Experiencing Nexus Malaysia
Staff Life
At Nexus, teaching is more than a career, it’s a shared journey. Our teachers share how living in Malaysia and working in such a diverse, supportive environment has made Nexus feel like home.
DAVID SPENSER
Head of Music, AIMS & FOBISIA Music Co-Chair
What I love most about teaching at Nexus is seeing learners grow — from picking up an instrument for the first time to joining competitions and even winning at the regional level within just a few years. It’s incredibly rewarding to watch all kinds of learners discover and enjoy music, while also having opportunities myself to grow as a teacher collaborating with other internationals schools through associations such as AIMS and FOBISIA.
Chu WEnyi
Mandarin Language Teacher
Since joining Nexus in 2008, I’ve had many opportunities to attend conferences and professional development that have helped me evolve my teaching to meet the needs of diverse learners. Having also taught in the USA and Singapore, I truly value the global perspectives I’ve gained at Nexus, which continue to shape how I teach and grow as an international educator.
Kerry Legg
Head of Primary, AIMS Primary Head Chair
At Nexus, we’re not only developing academic excellence but also the skills and mindset learners need to thrive in an ever-changing world. For me, that starts with us as educators showing resilience and self-belief through our own actions. What I value most is how Nexus provides opportunities for women to authentically lead in their careers. It’s powerful to be part of learning events and to lead conferences where we can share our journeys, support one another and be inspired.
KK Lee
Head of Operations, Finance & Administration
Being part of Nexus means more than just managing operations it’s about creating a supportive environment where teachers can focus on teaching and learners can flourish. I feel privileged to lead such a dedicated administration and support team, working together to make sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. Knowing that our efforts help bring the Nexus experience to life every day is what makes my role so meaningful.
