Outstanding IBDP Results in Malaysia: Two Perfect 45-Point Scores at Nexus International School Malaysia

Nexus International School Malaysia celebrates outstanding IBDP results in Malaysia, with the Class of 2026 achieving exceptional success in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). The school celebrated two learners who earned a Perfect Score of 45 points, while the cohort achieved an average of 34 points—well above the 2026 global average of 30.9—underscoring the strength of the school’s rigorous academic programme and supportive learning environment.

Two IBDP Learners, Two Inspiring Journeys

Nexus learners, Evelyn Teng and Chloe Poh achieved outstanding IBDP results in Malaysia by scoring a maximum IB score of 45 points—an accomplishment earned by only a small percentage of IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) candidates worldwide.

Although their future aspirations differ, both learners embraced every opportunity offered through the IB Diploma Programme, developing leadership, resilience and independence through co-curricular activities and the Boarding community.

IBDP Success: Evelyn’s Journey to Medicine

Throughout her IB Diploma Programme journey, Evelyn served as President of the Nexus Student Council, led the Nexus Model United Nations, organised conferences and mentored younger learners through the World Scholar’s Cup and STEM Club Co-curricular Activities. These experiences complemented her academic achievements and outstanding IB Results.

Evelyn Teng, who is also a Weekly Boarder, has been awarded a full scholarship to study Medicine at The University of Hong Kong under the Distinguished MedScholar (DMS) Programme.

Reflecting on her experience, Evelyn said:

I was really keen on studying the IB programme, and Nexus offered everything I was looking for—academic stretch, leadership opportunities, supercurricula and a multicultural, close-knit community. Boarding gave me the best of both worlds, allowing me to focus on school during the week while still spending quality time with my family on weekends.”

IBDP Top Achiever: Chloe Wins Scholarship to study Law

For Chloe Poh, the IB Diploma Programme was about far more than academic learning. As a Full Boarder from Hong Kong, she embraced opportunities to pursue both her academic ambitions and her passion for music before securing a full scholarship to study the Bachelor of Business Administration (Law) & Bachelor of Laws double degree at The University of Hong Kong.

Alongside achieving excellent IB Results, Chloe led the orchestra during the school’s annual production while taking on leadership roles in co-curricular activities. These experiences strengthened her confidence, developed her leadership skills and enhanced her university applications, demonstrating her ability to excel both in and outside of the classroom.

Living in Boarding also played an important role in preparing her for university life.

Living in boarding taught me how to manage my time, become more independent and support those around me. The friendships I built and the encouragement from teachers and friends made Nexus feel like home.

She added:

Learning alongside classmates from different cultures challenged me to think differently and prepared me for studying in a global university environment.”
