Year 9s and Year 10s craft hot air balloon with single-use plastics

In collaboration with Hara Makers and Reimagine Plastic, the Year 9 and Year 10 learners helped to create a hot air balloon from scratch!
Our Nexus learners started this project by collecting single-use plastics from the #NexusCommunity and then made panels for the balloon. Hara Makers and Reimagine Plastic coordinated with other community groups and toiled endlessly before finally bringing the hot air balloon to life.
When the balloon was finally launched, its sheer size certainly made it a sight to behold. We are so proud of the learners for taking on this project that helped to reduce single-use plastics!
