Challenge Week Success

Thursday, July 12, 2018
All boarders were involved with Challenge Week which provided the opportunity for our learners to develop a growth mindset through taking on new challenges,
learning new skills or deepening their current skills and knowledge.

We had boarders travel to Nepal to trek Annapurna Base Camp, others build a classroom in Sabah or be part of a Community Project in Cambodia. Those who did not travel abroad could choose to participate in on-site activities such as Sports Challenge, Music Technology, Film Production or MasterChef meets Bake Off.

The consensus among all was that the experience to try something different and out of the normal comfort zone was very much rewarding.

As most boarders (and staff) were exhausted after a hectic week, Mr Ariff offered to take those interested to IOI Cinema to watch A Quiet Place as well as stock up on food and toiletry supplies from Tescos.

Ramadan Meal Arrangements
As we observe Ramadan which commenced during Challenge Week in school and boarding, our catering team will provide the pre-dawn meal (Suhur) for those fasting (Sawm) whilst the entire boarding house will eat the meal at sunset that breaks the fast (Iftar) together after prep time which starts before dinner over the Ramadan period.

Everybody enjoying dinner together remains important and it is pleasing to see our Muslim boarders respected during this important time of the calendar year.
