Green Academy in Heilbronn, Germany

From the 16th of January till the 17th of February, I embarked on a life-changing journey with 17 other Malaysians, 2 Chileans and a lot of Germans. We kick started the party in Schluchsee near the Black Forest where we had our Welcome Camp. There, we had a flurry of different activities and met up with our German host siblings as we tried to break down barriers that separated all of us.

After that, we went by bus to Heilbronn, where we stayed in and around for most of our stay with our new host families. There, we usually had German in the morning and either tackled green topics in the afternoon or went on trips regarding green issues.

In my free time I also visited many exciting places in and around the state of Baden-Wurttemberg. I saw Heidelberg city, the Mercedes Benz Museum, Sinsheim's Auto & Technik Museum and many more places.

I found this trip very useful as I not only picked up a new language (at a cost of my English word power of course!), but also found new friendships with people of different races and ethic backgrounds. It reminded me very much of what happens at Nexus. This trip not only opened my eyes to the world and current affairs, but also defogged the path towards my future. Will I return to Deutschland? Most definitely!
