Halloween in Boarding

On 31st of October, Nexus boarders dressed up in all their creepy Halloween costumes for the Nexus Boarding House Halloween party. Everything was Halloween decorated with spooky little bats hanging from the air-conditioning vents, and a massive spider web on one of our walls. Even the couches were covered in black fabric to give it that extra spooky edge. The boarders had cut out little silhouettes of ghosts, bats and overall spooky things and put them up all around the boarding house. Ms. Lisa mostly led the design work whilst the Mr. Mark, along with the help of our boarders, made awesome tasting cookies and snacks. We also had spooky drinks such as witch’s brew thanks to Ms. Lisa. We had Halloween candies to munch on whilst we participated in the night’s activities.

The first of the activities was the mummy wrapping competition, where teams of four wrapped toilet paper around one of their members to create an awesome looking mummy, which was won by Ishtiaq and his team. On the agenda was also the donut eating competition, which was conducted quite a few times. The boarders would kneel on the floor with their hands behind their backs and they had to eat a donut, which hung by string. The night was eventful and loads of fun. The food and drinks were amazing, the party had an awesome vibe to it and afterwards, we all crowded around a candle to share some pretty scary ghost stories. The night was extremely entertaining and all the boarders enjoyed themselves. It was a really awesome night.
