Karaoke Night

The boarders experienced a very different Saturday last weekend. In the morning they helped Mr Andy at the KLSS sports carnival. Boarders could be seen helping in events all over the oval.   A karaoke night was held in the common room in the evening. In between eating popcorn and drinking fizzy drinks, the boarders sang for three hours. The quality of the singing was very good and the numbers ranged from solos to group performances. The following report captures some of what happened:

Last Saturday night, the learners and staff of Nexus Boarding house had a “Karaoke Night”. The Karaoke Night was held at the boarding house common room where it was equipped with many cool and awesome devices like, projectors and mikes. It started at 7:00 pm and ended at 10:00 pm.

The person who started the karaoke night with her performance was Arissa who sang the song “Call Me Maybe” by Carly Rae Jepsen. She won an award for “The One Who Started it All”. The best male singer was Ryan Kam. He sang many songs including “Hero”. The best female singer was Anis Khor, singing the song “Rolling In The Deep” by Adele.

The boys who won an award for singing the most songs were Ayman and Alex. They sang so many songs that it’s impossible to count. The best duet was Farina and Eli singing a song which caught Mr Trevor’s attention. The person who needed a vocal coach was Eizwan and the wannabe rapper was Adil. The Karaoke Night was a very fun experience for the boarders. I wish we could have more night events like this, because it was a night that no one will forget.
