Out & About Fun had by all

Although school closed for Thaipusam and Federal Day, the boarding house remained open with many boarders opting to stay in and spend time studying, relaxing or exercising.
On Wednesday, Mr Dan and Ms Sarah took some boarders to IOI Cinema to watch The Maze Runner, while on Thursday Mr Troy and Ms Bobby transported over twenty boarders to Alamanda for two highly competitive games of ten-pin bowling. There were some first time bowlers and with encouragement and useful tips from others, the final individual scores were extremely close. The somewhat unusual but effective technique shown by a select few had us in fits of laughter.
Ice Skating
Many boarders ventured to Sunway Pyramid to show off their ice-skating expertise last Saturday. Alissa, boardings own international ice-skating competitor was rather modest as she approached the rink, as she was more worried about looking after our more inexperienced ice skaters. She has promised to bring her own skates next time so we can all see her ice skating prowess.
Sports Day
The annual Secondary School Sports Day was held last Monday and once again our boarders made massive contributions on and off the track and field, with all performing splendidly. Twenty five boarders
as well as Mr Troy and Ms Bobby’s daughter Ayla were medal-winners, but as explained by Mr Troy at our house meeting, participation and individually challenging oneself, putting themselves out of their comfort zone can be more rewarding and satisfying.
Year 9 Max who attends early morning run club picked up three gold medals in the 400, 800 and 1500 metre track events, while Ayla hauled in four gold medals after the long jump, high jump, discus and shot put events, as well as a silver medal in the U15 mixed relay. Congratulations to all!!
CNY decorations & dinner
After the boarding house was delightfully decorated by Ms Bobby, Rene, Yee Tian and Ke Xuan, we were treated to a traditional Chinese meal and celebration on Wednesday evening. Those celebrating Lunar New Year organised to sing some Chinese songs as well as introducing us to writing Chinese calligraphy with ink onto red paper.
Year 11 PTLC
Our Year 11 learners attended PTLC last week which gave teachers the opportunity to provide valuable feedback and guidance following mock examinations last month. The extra compulsory prep sessions during the school week from 5pm to 6pm seem to have had a positive impact.
