Putrajaya Hot Air Balloon Festival

Our recent boarding trip took us not too far from our campus but it was still one of the most exciting trips we have had. On Saturday at around 2.00 pm we headed out in our school minivan and reached our location in a matter of minutes just outside the Putrajaya night market in Precinct 2. We were there to see the Putrajaya hot air balloon festival and the marketplace was booming.

The hot air balloons hadn’t been inflated yet as it was still too early in the day but there were still vendors selling all kinds of toys, food etc. But before we could enjoy the fun we had to find a parking space, but the place was entirely jam-packed. After driving around for a few minutes we came across an empty car park with no cars in it. So as anyone would, we parked right in the middle. No sooner had we left the van, a security guard came running over and said we couldn’t park. Without much hesitation we got in the van and sped away as we soon realised that this was the area for the helicopter landing and the helicopter was almost right above our heads.

After an exciting and thrilling start to our day we had some time to wind down and relax at the market but due to the rain, the balloons were delayed further. But when they did rise it was quite amazing, there were balloons shaped like an ice cream cone and Darth Vader. There was even one in the form a motorbike racer. The day had turned out to be a very interesting one and an overall fun experience.
