Term 2 Week 11

District 21

At the weekend a group of boarders signed up to venture into the wonderland of thrill seeking activities at the distinguished District 21, an indoor adventure park in IOI City Mall.

Our visit started with an introduction, safety brief and allocation of bright yellow socks to be worn during our time there. Our group started with a mass assault of the olympic swimming pool sized room of trampolines. Michael showed off his impressive skills of being able to bounce with nearly all parts of his body and still (almost always) landing on his feet. Hafiz and Terence showed us what they can do when you add a basketball hoop and ball into the mix.

Fathi and Danish discovered the climbing obstacles and after donning harness and helmets, they made light work of nearly all challenges that were set for them. Fathi narrowly won the race up the suspended spiders web and Danish won the race up the ladders.

All in all, the boarders resolve and team work shone throughout the day, there was a lot of encouragement for each other when they participated in the activities, and it was great to see different groups of boarders working together to complete the challenges.

Amazing Race

Last Sunday, Liam, Jeff, Mahalia, Sue Yen and Luanne participated in the Completion Party - Amazing Race at Windows on the Park, Cheras. Nexus who entered two teams performed well against over thirty other sides from various schools. The aim of the race was to complete in the quickest time, eight tasks ranging from relay races added with different challenges to counting the exact amount of rubber ducks and ribbons in a big garden. The most exciting for all was the swimming pool relay which Liam in particular enjoyed after an exhausting few hours running in the hot and humid conditions.
