Term 2 Week 3

Last weekend we went to 1Utama to try our hand at the Batting Cages. It was my first time batting and I was worried that I may not be able to hit the ball. Some of my friends tried out first and they hit the ball hard and far, so it was pressure for me when it was my turn. The ball came towards me and I was scared, but luckily I hit it. I became good at it, and it was fun.

After we had finished, we went to the mall and had a delicious Gelato ice cream. The mall was so big and the Batting Cage was awesome. I cannot wait for the next weekend activity.

Weather permitting, Ms Scout will supervise Walk Day Wednesday, which allows boarders to walk on the pathways around the local village and through the park for an hour after CCA. This may enable some stress relief for some, or an extra exercise regime for others.

A majority of our senior boarders were involved with the MUN Conference which was held here at Nexus last weekend. With over two hundred delegates present, our learners represented themselves and our school superbly, as well as being magnificent hosts. Well done to all.

We had some of our own play badminton matches in the weekend. Jason, Dening, Yvonne and Liann played superbly, winning four matches and losing the solitary game.

Shaq and Dening were outstanding ambassadors for the boarding house at last Saturday’s School Open Day. They were responsible for providing a school and boarding house tour for prospective learners and parents. Thank you and well done gentlemen.

In preparation for Chinese New Year, some of us decorated the main common area with Chinese decorations.

We welcomed Ms Maria into the boarding house last week. As an EAL teacher, she will provide EAL study sessions as well as assist with evening duties.

Due to the increase of boarding numbers, an additional Sunday shopping trip will be available leaving at 10.45am. As usual, the afternoon shopping trip will depart the boarding house at 2.00pm. Boarders are aware of the sign up procedure for both trips.
