Very much a global citizen, I completed my undergraduate studies in New Zealand and also have a TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) qualification from there. I then went to Sabah for my first teaching placement and continued to Columbia University in New York where I gained a master’s degree in Education. I stayed in the US to teach in a deaf school for a year before coming back to Malaysia.

Apart from developing a new habit of drinking coffee, it was in New York that I initiated a learning program that integrated nature into our education. I am a book lover and studied to be a Reading Specialist for my master’s degree with the hope of helping children to love and benefit from reading.

I also share the books I read on my socials. Outside of school, I enjoy… reading (you’ve guessed it), traveling (and visiting the local museums), and hunting for new eateries and cafes. I also Scuba dive and help out with conservation activities in Sabah. I am very much looking forward to meeting all of you at Nexus in the next school year!
