Last weekend we went to 1Utama to try our hand at the Batting Cages. It was my first time batting and I was worried that I may not be able to hit the ball. Some of my friends tried out first and they hit the ball hard and far, so it was pressure for me when it was my turn. The ball came towards me and I was scared, but luckily I hit it. I became good at it, and it was fun.

As everybody returned energised and refreshed from the Christmas and New Year holiday, we were delighted to welcome eight new boarders to Nexus. They were all quickly paired up with their buddies and shown around the boarding house and school to build some familiarity to their new environment. We now have 73 boarders in-house, the highest total ever!

Last week a dozen of our boarders were cast members of the school production Ash Girl. Most of the boarders were part of the audience On Wednesday and Thursday evening, witnessing a truly enthralling performance by all involved.

On Saturday over forty boarders visited Jumpstreet Trampoline Park, an indoor arena comprising of numerous interconnecting trampolines. There were different activities that we could partake in, the most popular being free jumping into the ‘foam pit’ and slam dunking basketballs into the basketball hoop.

Last weekend, we went paint balling at the Extreme Park in Shah Alam. We split into two teams on arrival and following the rules and regulations briefing we were all excited about which teams we were to be in. Last Saturday over forty boarders visited the Aquaria KLCC where the viewed a wide variety of aquatic animals. The tour through the ninety metre long underwater tunnel featured different zones such as the living ocean, deep forest and the weird and wonderful. We were amazed at the sight of the rare Red-Bellied Piranha, Sand-Tiger Sharks and a ten foot long gigantic Arapaima....

Having returned from a relaxing mid-term break, the boarders have had an extremely busy week. Some of our Year 10 boarders stayed overnight at Hulu Langat as part of their Duke of Edinburgh International Bronze Award. The two day, six hour treks as well as some team building exercises were the requirements of the trip.
